For the major of the year, I continued to work in-office for their branded content division, Highsnobiety+. During this period, I worked with major clients including Burberry and Mercedes Benz, among others; traveled to Athens, Amsterdam, and Madrid to profile artists for major feature campaigns; and assisted with training interns.

I also sporadically produced content for the editorial magazine. This included pitching and producing a reported feature on the history of music residencies in Las Vegas, which I would be interviewed about in 2022 as part of a special episode of Spectacle: Las Vegas, a Neon Hum podcast.

In March, I responded a job application seeking a writer for an experimental politics newsletter covering the 2020 election, which was funded by the freelance writing community. After several rounds of interviews, including one sample post, I was hired to write the weekly newsletter. The name that the co-founders decided on was Rubber Chicken Circuit, a term dating back to 1972 that describes the endless luncheons and dinners, often featuring overcooked poultry, that politicians have to attend to get elected.

The project ran for 30 issues before ending due to a lack of funding. You can find all issues of the newsletter below from start to finish, including a film review of HBO Films’ Running with Beto, which was a personal highlight.

Throughout the year, I wrote occasional pieces for publications throughout Europe and the UK, including the cover story for Issue 83 of Notion.
