
After being commissioned in 2019 to produce a cultural essay on why Perfume Genius had become the soundtrack of teen angst, I was approached by the US editor in January to do two in-person profiles — one on a fashion designer in Paris and one an actor in Los Angeles for a print feature in one of their upcoming issues.
In February, I pitched the editorial team on a regular column about the US election that would combine politics with pop culture. I was commissioned to produce a series of pieces throughout the year for the column before concluding in November as the US election wrapped up.

After spending much of the previous year working on an experimental weekly politics newsletter, I was asked to continue working with Study Hall as a regular correspondent. In this capacity, I produced interviews, guides, and a major longform reported feature on the collapse of LGBTQ publications in the US media ecosystem, which was featured on Nieman Lab.
In May, I was asked to take over production of the weekly Opportunities newsletter, which curates pitch calls, jobs, fellowships, internships and other opportunities aimed at media workers. I have continued to produce the newsletter weekly since May 2020 while balancing other freelance work.
